In 2012 Let's Elect A Mayor Who Cares about London, Knows London Issues and Has the Best Solutions:
"I know transport is a big issue for people in Hillingdon, especially the High Speed 2 proposals which threaten real disruption to communities in West London.
‘'I have written to the Government to call for a rethink for their HS2 plans. I believe improving rail links must be a priority, but the government must show far greater consideration for the quality of life for residents and rethink the current plans for the new rail link.
'HS2 will transform the nature of life in Hillingdon and if there is an alternative we can agree on we should go for it.
'You could take it under Euston, through Tottenham Court Road and build a couple more platforms at Waterloo. You wouldn't need to do a thing with Hillingdon'
This should be a cross-party issue,' the London mayoral candidate said. 'It will be more effective if it is.'
